Training
We also offer our customers training courses in ink mixing and colour measurement. These are carried at our head office in Grenchen, Switzerland – however, at the request of our customers, may also be carried out directly on site. The maximum number of participants is 10 people. Different training subjects can also be combined in a single course, e.g. colour measurement in the morning and ink mixing in the afternoon. A balance between theoretical and practical aspects ensures that the properties of printing inks as well as their practical handling and use are both studied in depth. Structure of training courses:
Basics component
The basics component will be delivered by our development department and answers the following questions:
What raw materials does a printing ink consist of? Which raw materials are responsible for providing which properties? What are the rules for handling printing inks in practice?
Theoretical principles
The theoretical component will be delivered by Dr. Christoph Balluf.
The introduction to the theoretical principles of colour measurement and ink mixing will be useful for all those who not only wish to press the buttons on a colour-measuring instrument, but also wish to understand what happens when a colour is measured. The aim is to present the theoretical bases for colour measurement and ink mixing in a manner that is as easy to understand as possible.
Practical component
The practical component will be delivered by our quality laboratory and deals with practical aspects of ink mixing.
The last part of the training course deals with the practice of mixing inks. This allows the course participants to practice mixing a specific colour shade as quickly as possible and with the minimum number of corrections. We will show you how residual inks can be used up and where attention needs to be paid when residual inks are recycled.
