At every stage in the manufacture of food packagings, the materials used must be carefully chosen and assessed to determine their suitability for contact with foodstuffs in the finished product. Manufacturers of printing inks are therefore required to make declarations of conformity. On request, Rotoflex AG will issue appropriate declarations of conformity. In addition, Rotoflex AG complies with all statutory requirements and performs regular migration analyses so as to assure compliance with increasingly stringent quality criteria..

Disclosure of recipes

The raw materials used by Rotoflex AG are mixtures or compounds of various chemical substances. The recipes of these raw materials are often protected business secrets of the raw material manufacturers. Despite intensive efforts by Rotoflex AG to obtain complete disclosure of all the substances with a specified or unspecified content in the raw materials used by the raw material suppliers, Rotoflex products may still contain potential migrants of which Rotoflex AG has no knowledge. For reasons of secrecy, our raw material suppliers do not always disclose all information about substances added by them either intentionally or unintentionally. This information which is not known to us can only be obtained voluntarily from the raw material suppliers as there are no statutory provisions in Swiss or European law requiring raw material suppliers to guarantee disclosure to printing ink manufacturers. Rotoflex AG endeavours to obtain all the relevant information about raw materials. All information available to us is then passed on to our customers.

REACH

REACH is the abbreviation which designates EU chemicals legislation. Its purpose is to ensure the safe use of chemicals. For this purpose, more than 50,000 substances are registered, tested and evaluated by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Rotoflex AG monitors the latest situation in respect of REACH and is aware of its obligations. Should a situation arise in which the availability of our products for delivery to you may be jeopardised by non-registration, we will inform you immediately and discuss further action with you.
