Colour master batches are semi-finished products that are processed into ready-to-use printing inks by our customers. They primarily consist of pigments and solvents, together with small proportions of binding agents and dispersant additives. Their formulation, however, remains incomplete. Certain components that give a ready mixed ink its characteristic properties are still missing. A number of other components are needed to give the ready mixed ink its characteristic features. 

The addition of various technical lacquers and solvents enables the colour master batches to be processed to obtain ready mixed inks with different characteristics. For instance, a final ink in Series 27 which adheres to polyester can be made from a colour master batch. If other components are added to the same master batch, a ready mixed ink in Series 54 which adheres to PE is obtained.
